Through the use of a large scale installation, my work poses questions about creation and participation. Intentionally selected, the black and white color palette is emotionally neutral and the words are displayed in a way that is purposefully devoid of meaning. Only through viewer participation can the meaning of the words be changed through the context in which they are placed. The viewer follows a specific, yet flexible, plan for placing the words outside of the gallery. After placement, viewer is invited to take a photo and place it on social media. Posting the words to social media creates a new context and also leaves a visible record of the viewer's interaction with the piece. The process becomes the product.
